Jen Sterling is the Chief Red Head at Red Thinking, a brand strategy company in Northern Virginia. We recently provided them with some videos of testimonials from their clients to use on their website. I interviewed Jen about Red Thinking and about her reasons for using video on the web.
Jessica: First of all, what is Red Thinking?
Red Thinking is a brand strategy and design firm. We work with passionate entrepreneurs and CEOs to get their companies to the next level. We do this through strategic positioning, messaging and creative execution of logos, websites and other collateral.
Jessica: What makes Red Thinking different?
We take our work seriously but we don’t take ourselves very seriously. We are a really fun group of people to work with. Most of us have been working together for at least 6 years… some as long as 10 or more.
Jessica: Why did you decide to have testimonials videotaped?
We have been telling our clients for years that video content is vital for their websites… and yet we never got around to doing our own. It really was about time.
Jessica: What do you think is the advantage of having video testimonials on the web?
People like to hear the “straight scoop” from other people. It gives us credibility when one of our clients can tell a prospect directly about their experience with us. I can’t wait for us to complete our site redesign so that we can post these directly on our site. At the moment we only have them on our YouTube channel.
Jessica: What has been your experience working with Capture Video?
Jessica is fabulous to work with. She is flexible about schedules and process… but she knows how to take us through the steps to get what we need accomplished. She is also very proactive and often will offer suggestions for things we haven’t even thought to ask about yet.
Jessica: Any other thoughts about using video as a marketing tool?
Much like websites, however, video needs to be kept fresh. We are already cooking up what to do with our next video!
