Reach Your Audience
As with any marketing campaign, the focus of a sponsorship campaign is on reaching your target audience. A great benefit of modern technology is that it is designed to reach a mass audience.
You can create one message, and use it a dozen different ways. For example, Capture Video can create a 15-minute recruitment DVD in which you can cover your organization’s history, goals, people served, and current needs. Then we can use the same content to produce a 6-minute mission video to show at your next gala event. And that same video, or a shorter one, can then be posted on your Web site for anyone who wants to know more about your organization but isn’t able to come into the office or make it to a gala.
Stay in Touch
It is always a good idea to continue to let your sponsors know how much they are helping you accomplish your goals. A quick 30-second to one-minute video e-mail once a month, or quarterly, is a great way to keep your sponsors up-to-date on how their contributions are making a difference. Inform them on how the organization is doing, from progress reports on existing projects, to goals for the future. Your sponsors will see how they have made a difference and that their continued donations are important.
Branding in Motion
Nonprofits benefit from using the same marketing techniques to inspire donations that corporations use to gain consumer buy in. In many ways, however, multimedia can be even more beneficial for nonprofits because the emotional content is real, and not generated for the sole purpose of profit. The marketing strength of the nonprofit industry is that you have the power to pull heartstrings and open checkbooks.
